Cinnamon – is a warming spice that has high amounts of calcium and manganese. It has been used medicinally for its antibacterial and antioxidant properties that reduce free radical damage and inflammation. Cinnamon is known to fight diabetes and protect cognitive function, defending the brain against developing neurological diseases.

Garlic Powder – contains some of the same beneficial components as fresh raw garlic.  Garlic has been linked to health benefits such as reduced heart disease and cholesterol. While fresh raw garlic has the immense health benefits, garlic powder is a more subtle alternative to enhance the taste of foods.

Onion Powder – is great for adding flavor in dishes and is low in sodium unlike many other commercial seasonings and sauces.  Onion powder contains Manganese, Vitamin C, dietary fiber and Calcium.

Oregano – is a flavorful herb with antioxidant, antimicrobial and antifungal properties.  It contains iron, magnesium, vitamin, calcium, and potassium along with vitamins A, C, E, and K.  Oregano can be used to treat indigestion and heartburn and has been used for years as a medicinal tonic.  

Nutmeg – traditionally, nutmeg has been known for its healing properties and been used to lower anxiety and insomnia.  It is beneficial for decreasing joint pain, nausea and cholesterol.

 

Turmeric – is a powerful medicinal superfood that has been known to fight cancer and prevent cardiovascular disease.  It’s a great immune booster and helps detox the liver, purify blood, increase circulation and reduce inflammation and pain.

 

Cumin – is a medicinal spice that is loaded with phytonutrients and minerals.  It is rich in magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, and zinc and has a high amount of B-complex.  Based on studies, the benefits of cumin suggest that it decreases the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Dementia, while also aiding in irritable bowel syndrome symptoms and weight loss.

Cayenne Pepper – is a spicy powder that has antioxidant, anti-fungal and detoxifying properties.  Cayenne contains beta carotene, Vitamin A and E.  It promotes circulation, suppresses hunger and boosts metabolism. Cayenne supports the immune system by helping fight colds and flus and has even been linked to being an anti-cancer agent.

Thyme – is a popular herb found in savory dishes and marinades.  It has medicinal benefits based on its most active component, thymol, which has antiseptic properties that kills bacteria and fungus.  It contains Vitamin A and C and is a natural diuretic.  Thyme is a great immune booster with antioxidants. 

Black Peppercorn – is a common spice in many households with great health benefits. It is high in manganese, vitamin K, and iron.  It is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and protects against free radicals.  When paired with other spices and herbs, black pepper acts as a catalyst in increasing the absorption of nutrients in the body.

Pink Himalayan Sea Salt – is one of the purest salts and is rich in mineral content unlike the highly refined white table salt.  It contains 84 minerals and elements which restores and balances electrolytes.  Pink sea salt helps balance the body’s pH levels, prevents premature aging, aids in sleep, and is known to help with digestion and respiratory issues.
